Project Hope: Healing through Art
Healing youth through the expressive arts
The youth of Palestine is in distress. A whole generation cannot engage constructively as the educational and recreational infrastructures have been shattered under successive assaults. The present is a wasteland devoid of opportunity and the future dark without prospect. Through art, drama, music and English and French language programs, Project Hope brings renewed sparks of hope to some of the hardest hit areas in occupied Palestine.
Project Hope is a non-profit volunteer organization working in Nablus, Palestine. It is committed to the principles enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and international humanitarian law. Its mission is to lend support to children living in conflict zones or under conditions which deny them access to basic learning experiences needed by every child in order to develop into a healthy and wellbalanced individual. Children need safe, supervised venues to freely express their fears and insecurities, release anger and frustration, engage positively with other people to begin to trust and build hope for the future.
Programs are carried out by a small Palestinian staff supported by local and international volunteers. It does not charge fees and relies on contributions from international donors.
